A Dentist with a Difference....
Unlike other Dentists you may have had, Matt has had a significant amount of treatment himself and also suffers from a sensitive gag reflex with things in his mouth. Rest assured whatever your past experience of dentistry Matt will be able to empathise with you- this is the reason Matt treats all his patients as he would wish to be treated himself: gently, honestly and predictably.
At the age of 5 Matt had 13 deciduous (baby teeth) removed under general anaesthetic after suffering long bouts of toothache, abscesses and mixed treatment under his dentist at the time. (See photo opposite). He then subsequently suffered with dental anxiety when faced with further dental work required to straighten and align his teeth some years later due to the removal of most of his teeth early.
After an understanding Orthodontist restored his faith in the profession and allayed his anxiety Matt was inspired to study Dentistry himself. Whilst studying for his degree Matt ended up having further invasive surgical treatment to remove a impacted (stuck) wisdom tooth.
Thus Matt has been inspired to provide gentle, honest and predictable treatment ever since. He goes to great effort to put patients at ease and make sure you clearly understand what your diagnosis and treatment options are. He will discuss the risks and benefits and also provide clear costs when you visit.
